The newly-renovated screening sector of the Dr. Laza Lazarević Neuropsychiatry Institute will be opened soon. Milosavljević said that a new psychiatric hospital in Kovin will be built next year and that hospitals in Toponica, Vršac and Novi Kneževac will be renovated as well.

He said that a new, renovated pediatric clinic within Belgrade’s Clinical Center of Serbia will be opened.

“By 2010, our healthcare system and health institutions should not be any different from the most well-developed European ones.” Milosavljević said, adding that health workers will no longer be able to say that they are working under unsatisfactory conditions.

Director of the Neuropsychiatry Institute Dragiša Ranđelović, said that in commemoration of the 145-year existence of the institute, the screening section of the center will be reconstructed with eight million dinars invested from the Serbian budget.

He said that two clinical physicians and 20 nurses will be working in that section of the institute.
