Shorter waiting lists for patients
Milosavljević said that the lack of investment into the healthcare system from 1995 to 2000 is the reason why the waiting lists were so long in the first place.“For the first time in 30 years, there is no waiting list for receiving a pacemaker in Serbia, and the waiting list for heart operations has been cut in half. Money, materials and equipment are not the only problems in healthcare, a lot of the time the biggest problem is a lack of organisation and a more effective system.” Milosavljević said.
Director of the Kragujevac Clinical Centre Radomir Pavlović said that the Health Ministry has invested more than two million euros in 2006 for equipment for the Kragujevac hospital, which itself invested 474,000 euros.
