Serbia loses to Czech Republic in Fed Cup final

PRAGUE -- Serbian female national tennis team lost 3:1 to Czech Republic in the Fed Cup final on Sunday in Prague.

The Czechs had a 2:0 lead after the first two matches on Saturday. Serbia’s Ana Ivanović first lost to Lucie Safarova 6-4, 6-3 and then Jelena Janković lost to Petra Kvitova 6-4, 6-1.

In the third match on Sunday, Ivanović won the first point for Serbia by defeating Kvitova 6-3, 7-5.

However, Janković then lost to Safarova 6-1, 6-1, allowing the Czech team to defend its Fed Cup title.
