Around 500 people gathered in Banja Koviljača downtown. They claim that the asylum seekers are destroying the image of the popular tourist town and are scaring the local residents.

The Banja Koviljača residents have warned that they will not let their children go to school on Monday.

Five Afghanis are suspected of raping a British woman in Banja Koviljača recently. One of the men is currently in custody. The incident has upset the citizens and prompted them to organize the protest.

The organizers point out they are not racists or being intolerant but that they are only requesting from the state to solve the issue of more than 2,500 foreign citizens, mainly from Afghanistan and Somalia, because the Asylum Center in Banja Koviljača only has room for 84 persons.
