Serbian MUP Emergency Situation Sector Chief Predrag Maric has stated that last night’s storm caused great damage in Serbia. Strong wind and hail a size of a walnut hit several municipalities in Serbia on Friday. State of emergency has been declared in the western municipality of Arilje. State of emergency declared in hail-hit town Basements in several buildings in the town have been flooded and the Emergency Situation Sector officers are pumping the water out at eight different locations. Maric explained that nine persons were injured in Krusevac in a windstorm but that their lives are not at risk and added that the state of emergency was declared in Arilje due to the fact that the storm had caused great damage.
