Education Minister Zarko Obradovic and representatives of three education unions signed an agreement in Belgrade on Friday. It should create conditions for the classes to be held regularly in all schools, and allow for the missed classes to be compensated, according to announcements. Education unions, govt. sign agreement The agreement was signed by Head of the Association of teachers' trade unions of Serbia Leonardo Eredlji, Head of the Union of Education Workers of Serbia Slobodan Brajkovic, Head of the education workers' union Nezavisnost (Independence) Tomislav Zivanovic and Minister Obradovic, and previously by Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic. “All education workers whose salaries were reduced due to strike, will be repaid once they submit a report on compensated classes,” Obradovic said at a press conference in the Serbian government after the signing. According to the agreement which was adjusted on Monday, school workers' salaries should go up more than the previously planned 2.95 percent in the first quarter, and more than 7.2 percent by the end of the year.
