Number of swine flu cases reaches 224

BELGRADE -- An epidemiologist with the Batut Institute for Public Health told Tanjug late on Thursday that 224 cases of flu have been confirmed in Serbia.

Dr. Goranka Lončarević said that one case each was confirmed yesterday in Kosovska Mitrovica, Kragujevac, Sremska Mitrovica, Vranje and Pančevo, while two cases each were confirmed in Niš, Paraćin, Ćuprija, Novi Sad, Pirot and Kruševac.

The presence of the new flu virus was also confirmed in four patients in Užice.

Four people have so far been confirmed as dying from the disease.
