UNICEF, B92 bring festive spirit to over 1,000 kids
19 January 2008 | 10:53 | Source: B92
BELGRADE -- A UNICEF/B92 campaign saw over 1,000 disadvantaged children feel the joy of the holiday season behind us.

The results of the joint campaign, coordinated by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, show that 1,280 children without parental care, as well as those with disabilities, received packages with Christmas and New Year presents.

The campaign was assisted by a large number of companies and institutions, most prominently Al Grosso, which donated confectionery worth RSD 450,000 (some EUR 5,600).

At the same time, the sale of the packages via our website generated over EUR 22,000.

The money will go toward the ministry's UNICEF-coordinated reform programs in the country's institutions for children with special needs and those without parental care.
