An Orthodox church in the village of Veliki Trnovac near Bujanovac has been vandalized for the second time this year. “We arrived to find chaos inside and outside the church. It has happened on several occasions over the past 6-7 years,” said Nenad Tasic from Bujanovac on Monday, having erected an iron door in a bid to secure the premises. Tasic described the scene: “Doors had been battered down, electrical lines pulled out, and the electricity meter stolen. The chandelier had been torn down, and we also found ash residue from a bonfire in the church hall.”. According to him, there were even traces of faeces inside. Priests visit the church in Veliko Trnovo several times a year, since there have been no Serbs in the village since the 1960's. The village belongs to the Bujanovac municipality and has 8,000 residents, all ethnic Albanians.
