CANNES -- Serbia is present at the 60th annual Cannes Film Festival with two films competing for the Palme d'Or.
Film "Promise Me This" by Emir Kusturica will be screened on May 26. Kusturica already won the Palme d'Or at Cannes twice for “When Father Was Away on Business” and “Underground” in 1985 and in 1995 whereas in 1989 he received the Cannes Best Director Award.
Pavle Vučkovic will also appear in Cannes on May 24 with the short movie feature "Minus", produced by the Belgrade Faculty of Drama Arts. Three years ago he won the first prize in Cannes in the program "Cinefondation" with a short movie "Run Rabbit Run".
Four more movies of Serbian authors will appear at the non-competitive part of the Festival, including "Film Noir" by Srđa Penezić and Risto Topalski, the first Serbian animated feature movie, "Yin" by Nemanja Valjarević, "Presentation" of young Belgrade director Katarina O'Hearn and "Milan" by German director Michaela Kezele, that features Serbian actors and Serbian producer Danijel Ljubinković.
