Arrest for Mladić-related graffiti

The non-governmental group’s Coordinator Maja Stojanović told B92 that the four activists were taken to the police station and released, but will have to report to the station again for interrogation today.

The police will keep the tracing moulds with the face of Mladić until the end of the investigation.

“Citizens reported that they had seen graffiti around the city which read ‘Ratko Mladić, wanted for genocide,” so they thought that it was us and they called us in to confirm who was doing this. The police told us that graffiti spraying on the sidewalks is punishable by law and that there would be charges pressed for disturbing the peace and public disorder.” Stojanović said.

“When we asked whether the people who had written “knife, wire, Srebrenica,” and other fascist graffiti found around the city, were arrested, we were told that they were still be investigated and that no one has been arrested, even if this happened six months to a year ago.” Stojanović said.

Members of the non-governmental group in Niš were attacked by a group of individuals on several occasions for commemorating the deaths of the war crimes victims in Srebrenica.
