Slovenian journalist suggests shooting at migrants

"God will figure out which ones are his," Erlah wrote, "causing outrage and condemnation when local media reported about it."

Because he is spreading hatred and intolerance, he will now be stripped of an award he received two years ago for "promoting of democratic and European values that Slovenia is based on."

The 33-year-old theologian may also be expelled from the Slovenian Democratic Party, led by former Prime Minister Janez Jansa.

Croatian agency Hina reports that Erlah is a contributor to the magazine Casnik, "close to religiously-oriented youth," and adds that Ljubljana Archbishop Stanislav Zore "also last week strongly condemned attempts to divide refugees that could arrive in Slovenia according to religious criteria."

Erlah in the meantime posted on his blog, without apologizing for the scandal, and instead commenting on the initiative to be expelled from the party. For this he blames the new leadership of the party branch in the small town of Trzic where he lives, saying it was "a faction that wants to replace Jansa and belittle all the positive things he has done during 20 years."
