Srebrenica commemoration could be postponed over Oric

It quoted the Sarajevo-based website klix.ba as saying that the committee is asking the authorities of Bosnia-Herzegovina to urgently contact the authorities in Switzerland with the demand that Oric be extadited to Bosnia instead of to Serbia.

Mehmedovic told the website that Oric was "no criminal but was only protecting the his bare-handed people that is today guilty only of surviving," and added that "if there is any need organs in Bosnia-Herzegovina should prosecute him, and not courts in Serbia."

The committee said it would announce its final decision on postponing the July 11 commemoration on June 30.

Oric was arrested on June 10 in Switzerland and Serbia on Sunday requested his extradition. He is wanted in Serbia for war crimes committed against Serb civilians in eastern Bosnia.
