An explosive device activated near the headquarters of the Albanian Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) in Mala Recica near Tetovo "has cause no injuries."

Child injured during explosion near Albanian party HQ

The DUI, led by Ali Ahmeti, is together with the VMRO DPMNE in power in Macedonia on the state level.

The Macedonian media also said that at the time of the explosion - at about 21:30 CET on Sunday - a guard was posted at the building but was unharmed.

According to unofficial information the media received from eyewitnesses, two unknown persons on a moving motorcycle threw a hand grenade at the building.

During the inter-ethnic conflict in Macedonia in 2001 Ali Ahmeti was the head of the ethnic Albanian "Liberation National Army ," and has headed the DUI since the Ohrid Agreement was reached to end the conflict.

The party has been a member of ruling coalitions in Macedonia for many years.
