Suspected drug lord's relative murdered

ZABLJAK 30-year-old Luka Popovic was murdered early on Monday at the Enigma Hotel in Zabljak, northern Montenegro, it has been reported. The Montenegrin police have arrested Jovica Zindovic of Pljevlja on suspicion that he had committed the murder. Suspected drug lord's relative murdered Popovic was the brother-in-law of Darko Saric, being his wife's brother. Zindovic is the ex-husband of Saric's sister. Saric - a Montenegrin who was given a Serbian passport in the mid-2000s - is a fugitive for justice, accused of organizing a massive drug smuggling operation. The motive for the murder in Zabljak remains unknown at this time. According to the Montenegrin media, both men were at the hotel to celebrate the Julian calendar new year. Some reports suggested that the murder was not intentional, but the result of "careless handling of a firearm". But the police would neither confirm nor deny this at present. Popović was the brother-in-law of Darko Šarić, being his wife's brother. Zindović is the ex-husband of Šarić's sister.

The motive for the murder in Žabljak remains unknown at this time. According to the Montenegrin media, both men were at the hotel to celebrate the Julian calendar new year.
