PODGORICA Montenegrin citizens are voting in the parliamentary elections on Sunday to choose members of the 81-seat parliament. Polls opened on Sunday morning across Montenegro and there are no irregularities. 18.9 percent of registered voters cast their ballots by 11:00 CET, the Monitoring Center (CEMI) has released. Voting begins in Montenegrin parliamentary election The biggest turnout so far is in central Montenegro, 20.6 percent, followed by Podgorica with 19.2 percent. 13 political subjects are taking part in the Sunday election – seven coalitions, five parties and a group of citizens. 1,162 polls opened at 8:00 CET and will be closed at 20:00 CET. 514,055 citizens are eligible to vote. These are the ninth parliamentary elections since the multi-party system was introduced in Montenegro and the third since the country became independent in 2006. CEMI, OSCE and Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) observers are monitoring the Sunday vote.
