Croatia has made a promise that it will support Lithuania's candidate for UN General Assembly president, Croatia's Foreign Minister Vesna Pusic says. When asked about Croatia's stance on Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic's candidacy for the post, she said that it had come too late and added that Lithuania's bid had been made in 2004 and that the country had started lobbying in the members of the organization to vote for their candidate twelve months earlier. “Croatia won’t support Jeremic for UNGA president” "Croatia has backed Lithuania and will keep its word," she underlined, and added that she said that to the Serbian FM as well, Croatia's news agency HINA has reported.
