Montenegro “repaid Albanians for support”

The Montenegrin authorities do not owe anything to ethnic Albanians in Montenegro for their support in the independence referendum, says ex-PM Milo Djukanovic. The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) leader said that the Albanian minority in Montenegro enjoyed full rights. Montenegro “repaid Albanians for support” Djukanovic told Kosovo Ora 24 TV that an independent country was Montenegrin government and Albanians’ common interest ahead of the referendum. The former PM believes that the Albanians in Montenegro honestly wanted the country’s independence renewed so they could exercise their civil rights. “The Albanian minority got what they asked with Montenegro’s independence – a state in which they exercise an enviable level of their rights,” Djukanovic pointed out. Đukanović told Kosovo Ora 24 TV that an independent country was Montenegrin government and Albanians’ common interest ahead of the referendum.
