The Republic of Srpska (RS) is politically very stable and has a full institutional capacity, RS President Milorad Dodik has said. He added that the RS had become EU’s partner on Bosnia-Herzegovina’s EU pathway. RS Europe’s stable partner, president claims “The RS is indisputable, permanent and self-conscious,” Dodik pointed out. Two decades after the RS was founded, the president expressed belied that it would never cease to exist, that it would strengthen it autonomy and independence in accordance with the Dayton Accords and that it would be an “active regional factor in the European integrations”. He stressed that the RS “went through difficult temptations during and after the war, as well as through constant questioning” and that some of its basic functions had been degraded by the international factors’ interventions, primarily by the high representative in Bosnia-Herzegovina. According to him, this is why political challenges are connected with preservation of the Dayton position and the RS’ autonomy and the biggest one is to return the original jurisdiction to the RS that is guaranteed by the Dayton Accords. Commenting on the economy, Dodik said that the RS shared the fate of the region when it comes to the global economic crisis.
