Croatian President Ivo Josipovic says Vesna Pusic's statement on Croatia and Serbia's mutual genocide lawsuits was "reasonable". Pusic, who is expected to be made the country foreign minister in the wake of recent elections, said that an inter-state agreement on resolving controversial issues had to be reached with Serbia and then the possibility of both countries withdrawing their genocide lawsuits placed on the agenda. Whether it comes to this is a decision for the Government and their assessment of what can be gained from one way and the other way," Josipovic told journalists in Zagreb on Monday. He added that in terms of the lawsuit against Serbia for genocide brought before the International Court of Justice, Croatia's chances had to be assessed, as well as whether the country could get what it wanted without going through an expensive and long-lasting trial. Vesna Pusic, a member of the Croatian People's Party, has said several times that an inter-state agreement should be reached with Serbia on solving open issues, including missing persons, stolen property and the prosecution of war crimes.
