Bosnia without common stance on Palestine

Bosnia-Herzegovina Presidency members have announced that they do not have a common stance on Palestine’s UN membership bid. They met with Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Thursday. Bosnia without common stance on Palestine Presidency Chairman Zeljko Komsic said last night that there was no common position on the issue and repeated that such decisions needed to be made through a consensus. He stressed that Bosnia-Herzegovina as a country which had been through hell of war, deeply cared about solving all open issues with plenty of patience and wisdom because it was the only way to reach peace in the region, it was said in a release. Bosniak Presidency member Bakir Izetbegovic repeated that he strongly supported the Palestinian request to become a UN member and expressed disappointment over the fact that Israel was not more open to the requests of the Palestinian people. Republic of Srpska (RS) Presidency member Nebojsa Radmanovic pointed out that unilateral actions would not solve the Palestinian problem and proposed that the Middle East crisis be solved through dialogue. Lieberman came for a two-day visit a day before Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Al-Maliki will arrive in Bosnia-Herzegovina. According to diplomatic sources, the UN Security Council should discuss the Palestinian request, which was submitted by Palestine’s President Mahmoud Abbas on September 23, around November 11, Reuters has reported.
