Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) leader and ex-PM Milo Djukanovic expects that Montenegro will get a date for the beginning of the EU accession negotiations. The European Commission (EC) will on October 12 publish a report on Montenegro’s progress in the EU integration process. Ex-Montenegrin PM expects accession talks date It depends on the report whether the country will get a date for the beginning of the EU accession talks. However, Djukanovic expects that Montenegro will get the date because “it has been working hard on fulfillment of Brussels’ conditions”. The former PM stressed that a date for the beginning of the accession negotiations would be a satisfaction for everything that had been achieved and that it would at the same time mark a beginning of a phase with even more obligations for the entire Montenegrin society. “That is why it is important that all Montenegrin state structures, institutions, civil sector and every individual in the next phase give their contribution to more successful and quality progress of Montenegro in the integration process,” the DPS said in an announcement.
