A high-ranking ethnic Croat official of the Serb Republic (RS) - the Serb entity in the post-war Bosnia - has called on the United States to "apologize". RS Vice President Emil Vlajki said the apology should come "because of many things that the U.S. had done in the former Yugoslavia region". Serb entity's Croat official wants U.S. to apologize Vlajki noted that the first apology should come for Washington's actions aimed at persuade then Muslim leader and Bosnia President Alija Izetbegovic not the sign the Lisbon Agreement, "which would have guaranteed peace in Bosnia". After the failed attempt to secure the signing of the agreement in 1991, war broke out in this former Yugoslav republic. Vlajki wrote in his letter that America's demand to Alija Izetbegovic to withdraw his signature from the Lisbon Agreement initiated a bloody war, "bringing us back to a pre-civil society of mutual hatred and feudal relations". Vlajki also asserted that Washington "unconditionally" supported Muslims in the civil war, and that the motive behind this was "to slow down Europe's unification". The RS vice president also believes the United States should apologize for violating a UN-imposed arms embargo by sending weapons to Bosnia - "mostly to the Muslim Army of Bosnia Herzegovina, and minimally to the Croat Council of Defense (HVO)", he wrote. Vlajki deduced that such a policy allowed Iranian army and Mujahedins to also make their way into Bosnia. "Why did you trick Croats and in 1994 made them join Muslims in the Croat-Muslim Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina, which marked the beginning of the end of the Croat people in this part of Bosnia," Vlajki wrote, addressing U.S. officials. Another apology, according to him, should come for America's role in the July 1995 Srebrenica tragedy - "according to statements of then leaders of the Bosniak (Muslim) people". "The reason for America's behavior was that in Bosnia, they had created a flash-point for the conflict between two civilizations - Islam and Christianity - while implementing ideas of their famed politicologist Samuel Huntington". "That's why this entire time after the Dayton (peace accords of 1995), the U.S. has been meddling in our elections and that's why, recently, they welcomed with open arms the illegal, illigitimate and anti-Croat government of "the Platformists" in the Federation, formed on the basis of an anti-legal, arbitrary decree issued by High Representative Valentin Inzko," concluded Vlajki.
