A man accused of committing crimes against humanity in Srebrenica in July 1995 has agreed to plead guilty as part of a deal struck in the Bosnia case. By accepting the agreement with the prosecution, Dragan Crnogorac admitted his guilt on all counts of the indictment issued against him by the Prosecution of Bosnia-Herzegovina in April of this year, said the prosecution. Man pleads guilty in Srebrenica case Crnogorac admitted that he conducted persecution of the Bosniak (Muslim) population in the territory of the Srebrenica municipality from July 10 until July 19, 1995, and that he took part in the killings of civilians. The reason given for the plea bargain - which will see the accused receive jail time of between 10 and 15 years - is that he "did not find himself in the Jahorina Training Center Unit voluntarily". Namely, Crnogorac was an army deserter who escaped from Bosnia to Serbia, but was sent back in June 1995. The murders that he was charged with were committed on the orders of his superior officer, said the prosecution. Crnogorac has also waived his right to a trial and to appeal. After the court of Bosnia-Herzegovina accepts the deal, the accused will, it has been announced, make a statement in front of the victims expressing his penitence over his participation in the criminal act.
