Croatian parliament welcomes Purda

Tihomir Purda, a Croatian war veteran whom Serbia had indicted for war crimes, but then dropped the charges last week, has met with Croatia's PM Jadranka Kosor.

Tihomir Purda, a Croatian war veteran whom Serbia had indicted for war crimes, but then dropped the charges last week, has met with Croatia's PM Jadranka Kosor. He also and visited the parliament, where he was welcomed with an applause. Croatian parliament welcomes Purda Parliament Speaker Vladimir Seks interrupted the meeting to call for an applause for Purda, according to the Index.hr news outlet. “It was a pleasure to meet Purda. I gave him the best regards from the entire government. We are satisfied that he is finally back with his family,” Kosor said after the meeting. “We are doing our best that the thing that happened to our defender and Croatian knight Purda does not ever happen again. I really want Mr. Purda to turn toward future. This is one of the best days in my life,” the PM stressed. Purda said that he had come in order to thank everybody. “I thank the prime minister and all defenders, my lawyer. I think they have nothing to be afraid of but they should not cross the border until everything is sorted out,” he pointed out. Purda was arrested in Bosnia-Herzegovina January 5 on a warrant issued by Serbia. He was suspected of war crimes committed in Vukovar, eastern Croatia, in 1991. Parliament Speaker Vladimir Šeks interrupted the meeting to call for an applause for Purda, according to the Index.hr news outlet.

“It was a pleasure to meet Purda. I gave him the best regards from the entire government. We are satisfied that he is finally back with his family,” Kosor said after the meeting.

“We are doing our best that the thing that happened to our defender and Croatian knight Purda does not ever happen again. I really want Mr. Purda to turn toward future. This is one of the best days in my life,” the PM stressed.
