The Montenegrin government has received a final bid from a Greek-Israeli consortium for building a highway from Bar to the Serbian border. The government will start talks with a Greek-Israeli consortium comprised of Greek Aktor Concessions S.A. and Israeli Shikun & Binui Ltd. Montenegro receives bid for highway Montenegrin Traffic Ministry spokesperson Ivana Pejovic said that the details of the bid would not be made public until the council for highway construction meeting, which is expected to happen on May 5. Government experts will be analyzing the conditions of the bid until then, after which the council would make a decision on whether the offer would be accepted. The government has already turned down a bid from the same consortium, which offered to build the 170-kilometer highway for EUR 3.92bn earlier. The Greek-Israeli consortium finished second in the initial tender, but the government began negotiations with them when the Croatian Konstruktor consortium was not able to secure valid banking guarantees for its financial capabilities to build the highway.
