Bosnian official wants apology from Vukčević

Bosnia-Herzegovina Court President Medzida Kreso asked for a public apology from Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic. Kreso said she asked for apology for what she described as "using lies" made in public by irresponsible politicians. Bosnian official wants apology from Vukcevic In an open letter, Kreso said Vukcevic deeply offended the Bosnia Court by saying that if it was true that Bosnia's Supreme Court president said that "we are all (Ejup) Ganic", then Bosnian courts cannot be expected to conduct fair trials. Since Bosnia does not have a supreme court, Kreso said Vukcevic was obviously referring to her as president of the Bosnia Court. Public identification with a suspect would be scandalous if it came from a judiciary official, and particularly the president of the Bosnia Court, she said. Vukcevic was obviously trying to undermine the Bosnia Court integrity and independence, Kreso said. War crimes trials are under the sole jurisdiction of the Bosnia Court, she said. Kreso said she is ready to resume cooperation, but demanded a a public apology from Vukcevic for questioning her professional integrity. In an interview for Belgrade daily Politika last weekend, Vukcevic said that the Serbian Prosecution will accept any decision of the London High Court on extradition of Ganic, a former Muslim member of the wartime Bosnia Presidency, arrested in London in March on the basis of Serbia's war crimes warrant. Vukcevic assessed that there could be many problems if Ganic were to be stand trial in Bosnia.
