Montenegrin PM Milo Djukanovic says that his country recognized Kosovo “as Serbia's true friend”. The province's ethnic Albanians over two years ago unilaterally declared independence, which Belgrade rejected as an illegal act of secession. “Recognizing Kosovo, act of friendship” According to Montenegro's state television RTCG, Djukanovic spoke in Sarajevo, when he said that “it is not friendly to foster a friend's illusions” and that Serbia when dealing with Kosovo, is in fact dealing with “a lost issue”. Instead of that, the Montenegrin PM stated, “there are issues where Serbia could win battles”. Djukanovic then addressed the growing criticism, described as “attacks”, that Montenegro has not been successful in fighting organized crime, by saying that “the meaning of these attacks is to stop Montenegro on the road toward European integrations”. “In some places they think, 'we have a problem with war criminals, but Montenegro has problems with crimes,” concluded Djukanovic.
