The Socialist International has condemned the friendly reception Republic of Srpska PM Milorad Dodik organized for Biljana Plavsic. According to Zagreb daily Vijesti, the SI will be sending a delegation to investigate the “Dodik case,” which could lead to the solving of a conflict which has been led in the ethics committee for several years regarding Dodik’s behavior, which in the opinion of some SI officials, go against Social Democratic values. Bosnia-Herzegovina Social Democratic Party President Zlatko Lagumdzija sent a letter to the president and secretary general of the SI before its chamber meeting, highlighting Dodik’s recent actions that he believes tarnish the image of the Social Democratic ideal. Lagumdzija said that the only way to maintain the honor and image of the organization which Dodik’s SNSD party belongs to is to revoke its status as a full-fledged member of the SI, according to the daily.
