With Slovenia having given the green light for Croatia’s continued EU integration, the EU presidency has scheduled an accession conference for Zagreb for Nov 2. Last night the Slovenian parliament’s Foreign Affairs and European Relations Committee, in spite of opposition, supported the government’s proposal and gave Croatia the green light to continue talks with the EU. Slovenian MPs OK Croatian EU integration The next stage in Zagreb’s integration process, the holding of an EU inter-government conference, which has already been postponed on two occasions since December owing to the Slovenian blockade. Immediately after the vote, the Swedish EU presidency informed the Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor that the conference on Croatia’s continued EU integration had been scheduled for October 2. The same day a resumption of talks between Zagreb and Ljubljana over the countries’ border dispute will be arranged.

The next stage in Zagreb’s integration process, the holding of an EU inter-government conference, which has already been postponed on two occasions since December owing to the Slovenian blockade.
