Bosnia: Federation slashes salaries

Bosnian Federation MPs, ministers and their advisors will have their salaries cut by 50 percent starting next month. Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina Finance Minister Vjekoslav Bevanda told Saraejvo daily Dnevni Avaz that the wages will be brought back to the level they were at in December 2008, as it was regulated by the recently adopted Law on Achieving Savings in that entity. In January of this year a new law came into effect that almost doubled their earnings. The Muslim-Croat Federation is one of the two entities of Bosnia-Herzegovina, the other being the Bosnian Serb republic (RS).
