The Sarajevo District Court has remanded former Bosnian Muslim commander Naser Oric in custody for another two months. Oric was arrested in early October in a restaurant in Ilidza, near Sarajevo, and has been in prison ever since. Oric custody period extended He is accused of extortion and illegal possession of firearms. The court extended Oric’s period of custody for fear of witness tampering if released, as well as of posing a threat to citizens’ security and the possibility of repeating his alleged offenses. Oric was a wartime commander of the Bosnian Muslim military in Srebrenica, and is suspected of extortion by lending money with large monthly interest rates. The court extended Orić’s period of custody for fear of witness tampering if released, as well as of posing a threat to citizens’ security and the possibility of repeating his alleged offenses.
