The National Party (NS) has called citizens to attend a “massive rally“ in front of the Montenegrin parliament in protest at the decision to recognize Kosovo. The party presidency said that by recognizing Kosovo, the Montenegrin regime had cast shame on Montenegro and taken a decision that ran completely counter to the will of the people and Montenegro’s historical and current interests, stated the NS after a session of its presidency. Opposition plans big rally in Podgorica The NS labeled the act of recognition an “unscrupulous and unfriendly act towards Serbia,“ and an act that “directly categorized the Montenegrin regime“ on the side of “Albanian separatists and terrorists“. “This act is aimed against their own people and their deepest feelings, and constitutes an initial spark for further deepening the profound rift in Montenegro, and for long-term instability in relation to Serbia,“ said the NS, adding that “there’s not a single, not even daily interest“ that could justify the Podgorica government’s decision. At a meeting of its main board today, the Socialist Nationalist Party (SNP) is considering the political situation following the recognition, and what moves to take next. The SNP, NS, the Serb List and the Democratic Serb Party (DSS) are the organizers of the protest scheduled for October 13. The Movement for Change (PZP) and the Liberal Party (LP) are not taking part in the protest.
