Gruevski to head Macedonian cabinet

Macedonian President Branko Crvenovski has given VMRO-DPMNE leader Nikola Gruevski the mandate to form the new government.

Macedonian President Branko Crvenovski has given VMRO-DPMNE leader Nikola Gruevski the mandate to form the new government. His party won 63 seats in the parliamentary elections held earlier this month. Gruevski to head Macedonian cabinet After meeting with Crvenovski in the presidential cabinet, Gruevski said that there new cabinet will have its work cut out for it. “I now have twenty days to put together a new government and for consultations with political parties. After those twenty days, I must send a proposal to parliament in order to elect a new government within the deadline given by the constitution,” he said. Gruevski also could not specify the length of the consultations, and said he has meeting scheduled for this afternoon with leaders of the ethnic Albanian parties – the Democratic Party of Albanians (DPA) and the Democratic Union for Integration, (DUI) this afternoon. After meeting with Crvenovski in the presidential cabinet, Gruevski said that there new cabinet will have its work cut out for it.
