Croatian PM Ivo Sanader has received a report on the suspension of Inspector Josip Gasparac who filed a criminal complaint against singer Marko Perkovic. Gasparac filed the complaint against Perkovic, known as Tompson, notorious for his pro-Ustasha views, for inciting ethnic hatred. Police spokesman Krunoslav Borovac said that there was nothing new to add in the report to what had already been said, meaning that the police continued to maintain that the inspector had not been suspended because of the singer, but because he had insulted his superiors and thrown a chair at a meeting. “A check should be carried out to see whether Perkovic intervened, and if he did, who did he speak to,“ says the daily, pointing out that Interior Minister Berislav Roncevic is good friends with Perkovic’s godfather Mate Bulic, and with the singer himself.
