Bosnia's Foreign Minister Sven Alkalaj says the signing of the SAA between Serbia and the EU will compromise the EU’s association conditions. Alkalaj said the move would repeal in part the EU’s “principles set for all countries progressing as they fulfill the needed conditions.” Sarajevo: EU sends bad message signing SAA with Serbia According to him, Bosnia-Herzegovina has fulfilled all of the needed conditions, while Serbia has not met the principal – cooperation with the Hague Tribunal. Meanwhile, President of the Party for Democratic Progress Mladen Ivanic said that he supports Serbia’s signing of the SAA. Ivanic, a Bosnian Serb, added however that he does not understand why Bosnia was left to sign the agreement with Brussels last. The Sarajevo daily Dnevni Avaz said in a commentary today that "it is strange that politicians in Bosnia-Herzegovina are not talking about the reasons for the delay in signing the SAA, because, essentially, a political process is in question." The grotesque police reforms have been adopted, there is work supposedly being done to find Hague fugitives and destroy the network of their helpers, the public radio and television system reforms are steadily crumbling, the public administration is on the lowest level since the time of the reforms introduced by then high representative Paddy Ashdown, the article said. Dnevni Avaz added if the Europe bureaucrats were to start nagging, Bosnia-Herzegovina would not be able to sign the SAA, and Serbia would have even less of a chance. The daily also states that it is surprised at the EU delight at Serbian President Boris Tadic, considering that his stance on Kosovo is "just as unwavering as that of the deputy leader of the Serb Radical Party Tomislav Nikolic and Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica". The daily also said that the EU was "inconsistent with its own policy when it allowed Tadic to visit Kosovo – an independent country – without the approval of the government in Pristina", adding that he was protected "solely by members of the Serbian MUP".
