An ethnic Albanian party has once again called on the authorities in Skpoje to recognize Kosovo's unilateral secession. Democratic Union for Integration leader Ali Ahmeti said in Pristina Thursday that Macedonian Albanians will "contribute constructively" in order for Macedonia to recognize, "as soon as possible", the unilateral independence of Kosovo, Albanian language media in the province have reported. Ethnic Albanians urges Skopje on Kosovo Ahmeti, after a series of meetings with representatives of Kosovo's institutions, said that Macedonia would "contribute to the significant process that Kosovo and the region are going through." Kosovo's president, Fatmir Sejdiu, Prime Minister Hashim Thaci and the assembly president, Jakup Krasnichi, following a meeting with Ahmeti, said that they "conferred with Albanian party leaders in Macedonia on developments in Kosovo and in Macedonia", voicing a strong wish and support for Macedonian's efforts to become a member of NATO. Last week, another ethnic Albanian party, the DPA, withdrew from the Macedonian government, sending it into a crisis that has been temporarily resolved when Prime Minister Nikola Grueski mustered support from the opposition to sustain a minority cabinet.
