Dayton Accords go missing

The Bosnian Presidency has lost the original copy of the 1995 Dayton Peace Accords. Presidency member Zeljko Komsic said that the document had gone missing from the Presidency's archives. The agreement was drafted in Ohio on November 21,1995 and signed on December 14, 1995 in Paris, ending the three and a half year war on the territory of Bosnia-Herzegovina. The agreement was signed by the late presidents of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia—Alija Izetbegovic, Franjo Tudjman, and Slobodan Milosevic. The agreement is also used as the basis of the Bosnian Constitution and defines many legal matters tied to the country's status, including recognition of Bosnia-Herzegovina as a sovereign and independent country, the structure of the government, the division of power between state and entities, and the return of refugees.
