The Bosniak (Muslim) member of the presidency made the appeal during his meeting in Ankara on Wednesday with Turkish President Abdullah Gul. Turkey urged to "increase engagement in Bosnia" The Bosnian Presidency said in a statement that Gul expressed his satisfaction over "intensified meetings of heads of state in the region of the Western Balkans", and that he "expected such cooperation to have concrete results in the context of solving the remaining open issues among those states". Izetbegovic and Gul also agreed that the practice of high level trilateral meetings between the Balkan countries and Turkey should continue, "as the meetings thus far have yielded good results". Izetbegovic stressed that "Bosnia-Herzegovina welcomed with great pleasure Turkey's increasingly important role within international frameworks", and once again expressed his expectation that "more significant Turkish investments in Bosnia will follow". Gul reiterated that Turkey supported Bosnia-Herzegovina - a "friendly and brotherly country" - on its "Euro-Atlantic road", said the statement. Izetbegovic and Gul also agreed for Turkey to strongly support in the near future the finalization of the process of return in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and development of agricultural production in those parts of Bosnia where there was interest from the local population.
