Identity of 162 victims of the war in Bosnia-Herzegovina, whose remains were found in Lake Perucac, has been determined. A preliminary identity of 162 persons, including ten children, has been determined based on DNA profiles, the Missing Persons Institute of Bosnia-Herzegovina has released. 162 victims from Lake Perucac identified Around 25 percent of the victims are women, including three girls aged from nine and half to 17. The oldest victims, whose remains were found in the lake, are women born in 1906. Remains of two former Yugoslav People’s Army (JNA) recruits, Almas Ahmetspahic from Visegrad and Ermin Mestrovac from Jajce, were also found in Lake Perucac. Two out of 19 passengers of the Belgrade-Bar train who were abducted at Strpce train station in February 1993 were also found in the lake – Serbian citizen Rasim Coric and Montenegrin Jusuf Rastoder. 160 of the identified victims are Bosniaks and two are Serbs. The victims were found in more than 60 micro-locations in 30 villages in the municipalities of Visegrad, Rogatica, Srebrenica and Bajina Basta.
