President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy today met with Slovenian Prime Minister Borut Pahor in Brdo pri Kranju. The two expressed their concern over the recent events in northern Kosovo, said reports. "Rompuy and Pohor worried about N. Kosovo" During the talks which focused on the western Balkans, Pahor said that it was still not certain whether the events in northern Kosovo were lone incidents or a part of a consistent policy, and pointed out that Slovenia supports the idea of dialogue in either case, Ljubljana-based news agency STA reported. Van Rompuy pointed out that he had come to the region to bring the message that the future of the western Balkans lies in Euro-Atlantic integration. He expressed belief that in order to complete the transition more easily, this part of Europe needs internal and regional efforts, which cannot be achieved without peace and stability. During his two-day tour of the Balkans, Van Rompuy will also visit Croatia, Belgrade and Pristina.
