The Republic of Srpska (RS) parliament will meet for a special session in Banja Luka on February 9 to discuss a referendum law draft. The draft was sent to parliament by the government of the Serb entity in Bosnia on Tuesday. RS sets date for referendum debate The law, if adopted, would regulate technical issues related to the holding of a referendum, but would not determine the referendum question. The question will be defined with the parliament’s special decision. According to the RS Entity Constitution, parliament is the only institution that can call a referendum. Earlier, RS authorities said they would ask the citizens to declare themselves on the support for the Dayton Agreement. The peace deal signed in Dayton, Ohio, ended the 1992-95 war in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and organized the country into two entities: the Serb republic, and the Muslim-Croat federation. RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik said that he did not intend to call a referendum on the secession of RS.
