Seven of the persons were seriously injured and one is in critical condition. Police and ambulances arrived to the scene immediately and took the injured to a Zagreb hospital. Police are investigating the accident and according to initial assumptions, they believe that the extremely low temperatures could have caused the crash. Weather conditions have caused problems over the last several days all over Croatia, blocking roads and slowing down travel with accidents occurring around the country. After significant snowfall on Saturday, even in cities on the seacoast, temperatures were very low on Sunday, causing freezing and ice on roads and tracks.
