25 November 2009 | 09:58 | Source: FoNet
LJUBLJANA -- A Slovenian soldier deployed in Kosovo as part of KFOR committed suicide yesterday.

The Slovenian army representatives confirmed the news, and said the woman killed herself using an automatic rifle.

They also described her as being "under 30 years of age", and said that she, after joining the army last spring, "fulfilled all her tasks successfully in the mission where she was on her first tour".

Spokesman for the Slovenian military, Simon Korez, said that the incident is under investigated, and reminded that there were no suicides among Slovenian soldiers "for the past five years".
