A policeman was shot and killed, while four others were wounded during a bank robbery near Croatia's capital of Zagreb. Local media reported that the deadly confrontation occurred in the town of Sesvete, during an attempted robbery of a Raiffeisen Bank office. Croatia: Robbers shoot officer dead Croatian police head's office chief Krunoslav Borovec said that the four wounded policemen are in serious condition, with doctors fighting to save the life of one of them. According to initial media reports, the failed robbery involved two criminals armed with automatic rifles, who were arrested shortly after the incident. They shot and killed the policeman inside the bank, wounding two, and escaped the scene. When another police patrol caught up with them shortly afterwards, the robbers again opened fire from automatic rifles, injuring two more officers. Borovec confirmed that both suspects were arrested.
