Macedonian Deputy PM Abdulahi Ademi expects Skopje to recognize Kosovo’s unilateral independence next week. Ademi, a member of the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI), told Macedonian Alfa TV that this was not the time for Macedonia to insist on Kosovo doing likewise—to recognize the Macedonian state under its constitutional name. "Macedonia to recognize Kosovo" Local Self-Government Minister Musa Jaferi, also from the DUI, echoed his party colleague, stating last night that Macedonia would recognize Kosovo next week. “Now is the right time to recognize Kosovo independence,“ Jaferi told Alfa. The same TV station reported that Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci had said that Kosovo would recognize Macedonia, but as the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. Macedonian European Integration Minister Ivica Bocevski did not wish to confirm or deny to Beta last night whether Skopje would recognize Kosovo.
