A Bosnian official says the decision to deny Belgrade academic entry to the country is based on proof that he belongs to a support network for war crimes fugitives. Head of the Bosnian Immigration Office Dragan Mektic said that a large number of the country’s intelligence agencies had confirmed Professor Kosta Cavoski's links with such groups. Bosnia to expel Serbian professor “He will, of course, be prevented from entering Bosnia-Herzegovina as a result,” said Mektic. Bosnian authorities have blacklisted Cavoski, a Serbian academic and lawyer, and he is therefore forbidden to enter Bosnia-Herzegovina. It comes in the wake of an operation last week when EUFOR members, with the assistance of Republika Srpska police, searched the professor’s flat in Pale, where he is residing temporarily while working at the town’s university. The Bosnian immigration service has also decided to force Abu Hamza to leave the country, since he poses a threat to the country, said Mektic. He added that “the constitutional court of Bosnia-Herzegovina is looking into that decision, but only to the extent of a possible breach of his rights in the very process of his expulsion.” The head of Bosnian immigration said that Abu Hamza had been declared a persona non grata in Bosnia-Hercegovina, and that the constitutional court would not be questioning that decision. "This country has not up to now had a sound legal framework or the institutional capacity to place under surveillance persons representing a threat to Bosnian security,” Mektic said, pointing out that the opening of the Bosnian Immigration Center had now changed this.
