Croatian President Stjepan Mesic said that it would be good for President Boris Tadic to come to Vukovar, as a sign of remembrance. “It would be good for him to come, I would support that, and it would be also supported by the Croatian citizens. It would be clear proof that the crimes in Vukovar should not have been allowed to happen and that we are opening a new book in our relations,” Mesic said as a guest on RTV Vojvodina. Mesic said that he hopes that the entire Southeast European region will fight for European standards and remove war as a political option, through constructive policies and European orientation. “First and foremost, all imperial interest should be wiped clean from some minds, from those who still believe that borders can be changed.
