"I hear that some people are demanding elections, and if they insist on it, I will not run away from a fight. I do not rule out (early) elections, and if the opposition presents valid reasons, they may happen," Vucic said.

Asked whether local elections in Belgrade will be the biggest test for his ruling SNS party since 2012, Vucic said that he considers opposition figures such as "Djilas, Sapic and Sutanovac" to be "big favorites."

"All of them are candidates of the same regime of the DS (Democratic Party) and are fighting only for privileges and for a renewal of their combinations worth millions. If we win, it will mean that people have voted for work, diligence and effort, not for thievery and robbery. If it happens otherwise, I will congratulate them. The only thing they must know is that we have done more in Belgrade in these past three years than they had since 1996," Vucic said.

The Serbian president stressed that he was "very satisfied" with the work of the cabinet of PM Ana Brnabic.

"The increase in salaries and pensions is significant, and if we are disciplined, there will be further increases in the future. I'm a bit sad that many media and some among the public are trying downplay even the best results," Vucic said.
