In conversation with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Poe said he would continue his engagement in this direction and expressed satisfaction with the fact he would be able to testify of political and economic stability in Serbia, the presidential press service said in a statement.

According to this, Vucic and Poe discussed "bilateral relations, Serbia's European path, regional stability, and other issues of common interest."

Vucic thanked the US congressman for his country's support to Serbia's EU integration, "and to preserving regional stability, which remains Serbia's foreign policy priority."

According to the statement, Vucic also asked Poe to convey to US President Donald Trump that it would be "significant if he visited Serbia soon, as a visit by the US president would be the best indicator of an upward trajectory in Serbia-US relations."

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic also met with the US congressman, when she informed him about the economic and political reforms in Serbia and the results of the Serbian government on the road to EU membership.

Brnabic "stressed that for Serbia, in addition to European integration, regional stability is also a top priority, adding that through numerous meetings with regional leaders, she was convinced that they were aware that co-operation is a prerequisite for the stability of the region," the Serbian government said.

Poe "reiterated the support of the United States to the membership in the EU and welcomed reforms that Serbia is making on that path" and "confirmed that regional stability is crucial on both political and economic level because it encourages American companies to do business in Serbia in growing numbers."

Brnabic and Poe "agreed that the two countries are partners in the fight against terrorism and that it is necessary to continue working seriously on combating human trafficking, which is an important issue of global importance."
